History

November 25, 1872 The locomotive was delivered with the name "W. C. Ralston".
mid-February, 1873 Renamed to "Aurora".
August 8, 1881 Sold without tender to Oregon Railway and Navigation Company for $9,500.
August 1881 Renamed and renumbered OR&N #39 (later #16).
  Later Union Pacific #1380.
  Later again OR&N #17.
1903 sold to Rucker Brothers at Everett, Washington for logging service.
  Scrapped in Washington.
   
   

Comments

The V&T #15 Aurora had a long 13' 3" wheelbase that made it only fit on the track between Reno and Carson City. The locomotive was seldom driven on the curves all the way to Virginia City.

The locomotive was delivered with injectors.
